(Note: Another new contributor, welcome angel with a comment on this piece, please).

I Can Not:

I can not make a world, or hold it in my hand.

I can not make the lighten flash across the land.

I can not take you heart or mold it…

that was not my plan.

But if i could...

I would be the one who can: I can not make a cloud,

descend in the sky

I can not look into the sun that’s way up high

But if I could...

you would be the sun shining down on me.

I can not touch the face of an Angel sent from above

I can not place my heart in you hands as of now

But if I could...

O the burning and yearn you would feel

I can not say...

three simple words that I feel this day

I can not tell you how you take my breath away

I can not tell you what I want to say....

But if I could...

my heart would break this very day

I can not unlock the door to your heart

I can not leave my mark...

I knew that from the start

But if I could...

I would tell you what I wanted from the start

I can not say...

how you’ve touched my heart

I can not say the things you are to me....

But if i could...

you would be the very air I breath…

and the light of my day for life.

There is so much more I can not say.

I'll save it for our special day! ----

Overview

  • : poetry-doggeral-et-al's name
  • : A mix of poetry, doggeral (intentionally mispelled (sic) as it IS doggerel), stories, familial stuff, and disjointed thoughts, posted to hopefully elicit dailogue(s), arguments, and/or a reader's ideas, poetry, etc. It is not polished, not especially literate, certainly not universal--sorry, it is just me.
